Predictive compensation actions for the avoidance of shape deviation of micro milled dental products
Aim of this project was to avoid process induced rejection of parts as well as the enhancement of manufacturing quality when manufacturing dental replacements by 5-axis milling. Therefore, the machining and mathematical methods developed within the SFB 747 were transferred to the manufacture of dental replacements. At first this included the extension of the analytical process models to further materials and end mill geometries based on empirical machining tests. These models allowed to derive optimized input parameters for the manufacturing process and therefore a predictive compensation of shape deviation by using the method of non-linear inverse problems.
