Controlled and scalable laser removal method for manufacturing contoured micro forming tools
In the sub-project A5, we focused on assessing the process capability of laser-chemical machining with a laser-jet. In general, the reproducibility of micro forming tools should be made possible and, therefore, became available for industry use. To improve the process accuracy, the removal should be, inter alia, made more even. For diminishing manufacturing deviations, the enhancement of degree of automation and the production of a quality controller were planned. This controller is a 3-dimensional path planning model, which adjusts the removal process concerning feed direction and transserve direction. In particular, the processing system was renovated, such that higher manufacturing speeds were possible. At the end of the third funding phase, we were capable of evaluating the process capability for industrial purposes.
